Dogs
If there is Blue-Green algae in the lakes, posters like this will be displayed throughout the park:
Dogs are welcome in most areas of the Park, provided that they are kept under close control.
Dogs are not permitted in the Nature Reserve in order to prevent disturbance to the wildlife in this area.
Please keep your dog under close control at all times - keep them away from other visitors and the cattle in the river meadows. Also, please keep dogs away from anglers.
Please clean up after your dog to allow everyone to enjoy the Park. There are many dog bins around the Park and bags are available from the Visitors' Centre. Wardens are empowered to take action against owners who allows their dogs to foul the Park.
Dog bags are provided free of charge and are located at all the dog bin stations around the Park - there are not many places you can visit that provide such a good incentive.
Opening Hours
The Park is open to visitors 365 days a year. This also applies to the main car park but not to the overspill car park which closes at 5:00pm each day.

The Park is owned and managed by Bedford Borough Council. The Friends of Harrold-Odell Country Park work in partnership with Council staff and run this web site.
Emergencies should be reported to the staff or direct to the appropriate emergency service.
