Every month we hold a Conservation Task Day led by a member of the Park Staff. This is for people who can only commit to one day a month. It also enables people interested in becoming a volunteer, to sample what is involved. Dates of Task Days are posted on the online Calendar, in our Newsletter and on the Park Notice Board.
There are also opportunities to take part in conservation tasks on a more regular basis. Volunteers can be found working in the Park every day with the exception of Thursday and Friday. Why not come and join them and help with practical work such as habitat management, tree planting and hedge work, assist with events or record wildlife. The Park provides all the necessary equipment, direction and training where necessary.
It is important that you should contact and speak to one of the Park Staff if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.
Help with events
The Park runs a number of events each year and we are always looking for volunteers to help. If you are interested, please check out our events calendar and speak to Janet Munro on 07585 908 821.
The Park is open to visitors 365 days a year. This also applies to the main car park but not to the overspill car park which closes at 5:00pm each day.
The Dragonfly café is open daily between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm
The Park is owned and managed by Bedford Borough Council. The Friends of Harrold-Odell Country Park work in partnership with Council staff and run this web site.
Emergencies should be reported to the staff or direct to the appropriate emergency service.
