BECOME A FRIEND OR VOLUNTEER

Why become a Friend or volunteer?
Most people join us in order to work as a volunteer helping with the management and conservation of the Park. The Park staff (Wardens) identify the tasks to be done and Bedford Borough the insurance cover. We supply the safety equipment and training where necessary. There’s always work to be done in the open where you can enjoy good company and the satisfaction of a job well done.

You can come to one of the monthly Task Days if you would like to sample what it’s like to be a volunteer. Alternatively you may want to come when most of the other volunteers are in the Park, on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

There are also behind the scenes opportunities for those who would like to help with adding material to the website, helping prepare materials for visitors, helping with events or joining the Friends Committee which identifies new projects and allocates money.

Membership is free and keeps you informed about activities and developments in the Park.
To become a Friend, download and complete a Registration Form or collect a copy from the Park Office.
